First-year student Joseph Perkins chases his architectural dreams, brick by brick

Using LEGO® Bricks, Spokane residents brought seven city landmarks to life.

First-year student Joseph Perkins, an aspiring architect, used his love of Legos, and almost all of winter break, to recreate the 1895 Spokane County Courthouse for “Brick by Brick: We Built This City.”

The new exhibit at the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture celebrates iconic structures of the eastern Washington urban hub. Other Lego recreations include the Great Northern Clock Tower and Radio Flyer Wagon at Riverfront Park, the Historic Davenport Hotel, the Campbell House, the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, the Washington Water Works Building and the Spokesman-Review Tower.

The exhibit runs through June 14.
