Frazer Cook and the Husky Marching Band worked in harmony for 57 years.
Cook, ’65, who retired last year, started his career as band announcer for Husky football games in 1963. Then, he was a 19-year-old UW sophomore with almost no public speaking experience other than appearing in high school plays.
“I tried out at 9 a.m., and they had a game to do three hours later,” Frazer said. “Little did I realize it would turn into a long-term relationship.”
