In the Seattle Sports Mascot Contest, it’s Dubs or Harry the Husky in 2026

Live mascots for 11 Seattle sports teams are in the running but c’mon, the UW’s mascots are a lock.

How could you vote for anyone else?

Public voting for the Seattle Sports Mascot Contest runs through March 5. But c’mon, we all know who is going to win: our lovable, sweet Alaskan Malamute fur, Dubs II or excitable Harry the Husky. The contest is put on by the Seattle Sports Commission, an organization that collaborates with stakeholders in the private, public and community sectors to foser a sports culture with a belief in human rights, inclusivity, equal access and sustainability to ensure future generations can enjoy Seattle sports.

The UW’s two live mascots facing some stiff competition for sure. The other contestants are:

Blitz, Seattle Seahawks (NFL)
Buoy, Seattle Kraken (NHL)
Butch T Cougar, Washington State University (Pac-12)
Doppler, Seattle Storm (WNBA)
Fin Crispy Jr., Dub Sea Fish Sticks (summer collegiate baseball team)
Humpy, Seattle Mariners (Major League Baseball)
Rucky, Seattle Seawolves (professional rugby)
Sammy the Sounder, Seattle Sounders (Major League Soccer)
Yorka, Seattle Orcas (cricket)

OK, UW fans, you know what to do.

Results will be announced on March 13.
